Fiordland Athletics Club Committee
-
A dedicated Fiordland endurance athlete, Dwight has won multiple national age-group titles and represented New Zealand in mountain and trail running. He’s also a familiar face at Saturday parkrun, where he supports and encourages the local running community — sometimes (okay, lots of times!) in fancy dress!
-
A passionate runner and triathlete, Jason has competed across a wide range of events, from the 1500m through to the marathon. He is continuing as Secretary and Kids Athletics Coordinator, supporting the Club and helping the next generation of athletes get involved and develop their skills.
Jason is also a teacher and, alongside Megan, helps oversee the day-to-day operation of Te Kūwaha Mātauraka, John McGlashan College’s second campus at Te Anau Downs.
-
Megan brings a strong background in competitive running and triathlon to her new role as Treasurer. Megan has recently started as the Sports Co-ordinator at Fiordland College
With a passion for athletics and supporting young people in sport, Megan is looking forward to contributing to the Club both on and off the track.

Carly is one of the driving forces behind Fiordland Athletics Club, helping grow the Club’s profile, membership and strong sense of community. She keeps our members informed and celebrated through our social media, while also organising Run Club and volunteering at parkrun and numerous community events.
A passionate runner and dedicated volunteer, Carly brings plenty of energy, creativity and enthusiasm to everything she does. We’re incredibly lucky to have her as part of the Fiordland Athletics team!

Danielle is a familiar face across the Te Anau community, lending her time and energy to countless local committees and organisations. She has been an absolute asset to our Run, Jump, Throw programme and is back again this year to organise and coordinate our younger athletes. Her enthusiasm, commitment and passion for getting kids involved in sport make her a valued member of the Fiordland Athletics team.
-
Lee may be one of the quieter members of our committee, but her contribution certainly speaks for itself. She is an absolute asset to Fiordland Athletics Club, bringing a wealth of experience, knowledge and a calm, practical approach to the team.
Following her husband around to various sporting events and adventures is no easy task, but Lee has embraced the lifestyle and brings that same commitment and enthusiasm to the Club. She is always willing to lend a hand, share her knowledge and get stuck in behind the scenes.
We’re incredibly grateful to have Lee on the committee and for everything she contributes to helping our Club continue to grow.

Les is a bit of a superstar when it comes to the athletics community and has been a valued part of Fiordland Athletics Club for many years. Over that time, he has competed across a wide range of events in both the Senior and Masters categories, collecting numerous titles and achievements along the way.
With years of experience both on and off the track, Les brings a wealth of knowledge to the committee. He is always happy to share his experience, offer advice and support our athletes, making him a fantastic resource for the Club.
We’re incredibly lucky to have someone with Les’s experience, passion and knowledge helping to guide Fiordland Athletics Club into the future.
At Fiordland Athletics, our vision is to foster a vibrant, inclusive community that inspires participation, personal growth, and a lifelong enjoyment of sport for all ages and abilities. We believe athletics is about more than running, jumping, and throwing — it’s about building confidence, connection, and a love of movement in one of the most inspiring outdoor settings in Aotearoa.
We welcome everyone, from young children discovering sport to experienced athletes chasing personal bests, and are committed to creating a supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
A key focus is growing female participation by providing welcoming opportunities, supportive pathways, and positive role models for women and girls.
We’re also passionate about inspiring the next generation through fun, inclusive programmes like Run Jump Throw, helping young people build skills, confidence, and a lifelong connection to athletics.
